REALLY!?

Really! Mr. Band promoter guy you really think I'm going to rent you 5 rooms tonight when you skipped out on your bill last week? REALLY! You think you can waltz right back in here with some story about how busy you are? Really? Too busy to pay your credit card bill and that's why it declined, really, and too busy to come settle your bill before you need 5 rooms tonight, really!? Then, Mr. Band Promoter guy to pay for the room from last week you hand me a credit card with some womans name on it? When I ask who's credit card it is you tell me it's your Grandmother's, REALLY!! Do I look like I was born yesterday? GEEZ!

Summer time T.V.

Today is one of the best days of the summer today they start competing and dancing on So You Think You Can Dance. Yay!! You know I'll be posting videos of my favorite dances.

Another show I watch in the summer is My Life on the D list. I know I shouldn't Kathy Griffin is rude and crude and says horrible things to Jesus when she win awards but I can't help it. This weeks episode was awesome she was hanging out with Bette Midler. Bette wasn't taking any of her crap which I loved. When Kathy asked her if Wind Beneath my Wings was about farting, Bette just rolled her eyes and didn't dignify that with an answer. What kind of question is that, Kathy? What are you a 12 yr. old boy? I have to share with you the best part of this weeks episode. Kathy and Bette are trying to sing Happy Birthday to a drunk in Vegas...well they get upstaged.(don't worry it's nothing crude or rude)

MAY DAY DILEMMA

For starters Happy May Day!! Out of all the less known less celebrated holidays May Day is one I think would be great to celebrate. Who wouldn't love giving and receiving baskets of flowers all day long. I think it would be wonderful. Every year on May Day I think to myself next year I'm going to take baskets of flowers to my visiting teaching ladies and maybe some neighbors too, but it never happens. Maybe someday when I'm old and retired with nothing better to do you might find me on your door step on May 1st with a basket of flowers. It could happen!

Next, I'm embarrassed to admit this but here it goes. It's the first of May and I still have my Willow Tree Nativity gracing the top of my television armoire. When it came time to put away Christmas I looked at my Nativity and thought I'm not going to take it down now it's too beautiful and one of nicest thing I own to have sitting on a shelf in my garage 11 months out of the year. Then Valentines Day rolled around and I thought maybe it's time to put it away... well I could leave it up until Easter then take it down. Easter has come and gone the year is almost half over so at this point I'm wondering do I dare leave it up all year?

Every Day

On this Valentines I would like dedicate this song and this video to my awesome husband. I love you, Sean. Remember when we took beginning Ballroom at Ricks and learning the waltz almost ended our engagement. I'm so grateful that we have eternity together and we will have forever to learn the waltz cause we're gonna need it.

Annie was over at my house and she looked at my engagement picture on my desk and she pointed to El Jefe and said , " He's Edward." I never noticed it before but I think she could be right, El Jefe does have a slight resemblance to Edward. I want to know your opinion.

I would love to say that I came up with that all by myself but I didn't so I need to give props where props are due. I saw this on the Bonnie Hunt show this morning at work. I laughed out load in front guests eating their waffles and yogurt. Then I got embarrassed, then I got over it. Bonnie is so funny and down to earth. I would love for her to be my friend, Bonnie if your out there will you be my friend? Did I mention her hair, she's got great hair take a look for yourself.

I'm taking the above picture when I get my next hair cut.

Becoming in 2008

As I look back on 2008 I realize that I've changed and I became a few unexpected and fabulous things.

In May I became unemployed. I was told in the nicest possible way that after the Summer of Carrrie I would not have a job at the High School. I did such a great job with the boys I was working with that they no longer needed me, I would beg to differ.

Thanks to El Jefe after the summer I was back at the Hotel doing what I do best, making waffle batter, cleaning up after people and filling vending machines.

In August I went to the beach and I became IRL friends with a group awesome women. I also got to spend time with a few of my favorite bloggers I met in 2007 and got to know them better. I would say it was the highlight of 2008. Thank You ladies!



In October I became a fan of Luis Miguel. I went to see him in concert with Annie, NCS and my cousin queen K. Before I went I could only recognize one of his songs.I couldn't understand a word he was singing but it didn't matter he was terrific. If you like Ricky Martin and/or George Michael if you mush them together you get Luis.



In November I became a Wrestling Mom. Much to my surprise my oldest decided to go out for the wrestling team. I was thrilled to see him get off the couch and try something physical it wasn't the sport I would've picked for him. I get a little uncomfortable seeing boys rolling around in those singlet thingies. I always pictured him playing football or soccer. He seems to enjoy it and especially his new found muscles and the weight he has lost. Go RADCHAD!





In 2008 I also became one of them. You know one of those people who think that their dog is not just a dog but a person too. Yes, that's me I've gone loony for my new pooch Sarah Palin. She so cute, smart and sweet I can't bear the thought of leaving her home alone so I take her with me almost everywhere except for work. If El Jefe would let me I would. Come on who can blame me look at that face.


Who knows what 2009 will bring as far as I'm concerned the one thing I hope to become is thin.

Internet Blackout 2008: An Update

Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been on the Internets for a little while. My local wireless Internet provider was upgrading their towers and in the process we lost our signal... blah, blah, two weeks later it finally was fixed.
What did I do during the blackout? Well I'll tell you. I turned 39 thank you for all your sweet Birthday wishes. I got a haircut and a much needed eyebrow wax, can you say uni brow? I voted, my guy lost... c'est la vie. I had the flu it was awful I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

We welcomed a new addition to our family we adopted Little Sarah Palin.

A year ago we lost our Dachshund Sam to the coyotes. For about a month now my kids started to ask on a daily basis if we could get another dog. After much pleading and bargaining El Jefe agreed we could get a new dog. We found Sarah at the county animal control we knew she was special when we first saw her. She was all calm and happy in a room full barking hyper dogs. She is a Toy Poodle but she doesn't act like one. She is very friendly and hardly barks which is a big plus. She's a gem of a dog. We don't let Sarah outside alone we've learned our lesson and don't want to lose her to the coyotes. Guess who is gets to take the dog out at six in the morning in her pajamas and bed head? That's right, me.

Yellow

It has been a glorious fall here in Colorado this year. Like most of you I love fall but it's also bittersweet because it means winter is fast approaching. Soon my toes will be constantly cold and I'll be be brushing snow off my car in the wee morning hours. Saying that I'm not looking forward to that would be a understatement. So, I took a walk along the river the other day and took some pictures to remember this beautiful fall come January when I'm cold and SAD.

Kind and Generous....

I'm a rotten no good daughter. I have been back from my trip to Virginia for three weeks and it has taken me that long to write this post about my wonderful parents. El Jefe and I enjoyed a week long vaycay with no kids thanks to my Mom and Dad who were happy and willing to stay at my house and watch the kids. Now some of you might be thinking big deal my parents have done that too. I know big deal but, while you were gone did the dishwasher and computer stop working and did your water softener flood the laundry room all in the same day?

When my Dad called and told me about my house falling apart around them he said, "After the laundry room flooded your Mom and I thought about packing our bags and going home." I wouldn't of blamed them if they had. Thankfully they stayed and here is the kicker my Dad painted my house while we were gone. Yes, you heard me right he PAINTED MY HOUSE.

Last spring we put some rock on our house and it looked great but it was evident that to complete the look we were going to have to paint the house because the icky blue just wouldn't do. Well, with El Jefe running four Hotels this past summer instead of his usual two he just didn't have the time to paint. Weeks before we had to leave I told that darling man of mine that we had better paint the house before we leave because you know my Dad will do it while we're gone. El Jefe said, " Your Dad already called and told me that we had better buy some paint because he wants to paint the house." All righty then I'm not going to argue with that.

My Mom cooked and cleaned all week. RadChad said that he is going to miss Grandma because she cooks dinner EVERY NIGHT, as if to say that I don't? The last time I checked Tombstone pizza's still need to be cooked in an oven.

We came home to a clean and beautiful newly painted house. It doesn't get much better than that.

Just in case there are any doubts that my Dad is the Greatest. He just so happens to be on my roof right now fixing a leak as I am writing this post. I am truly blessed to have been born to goodly parents. I love you Mom and Dad (((HUGS)))

Pandora is an Internet radio designed to play only the music you want to hear. When you log in you put in an artist or a song you like and then it creates a radio station of that artists and other artist that sound similar. For instances if I'm in the mood for some awesome New Wave I just pick my New Order station and it plays all New Order and others that sound like them. If I'm in a Funky mood I'll play my Earth Wind and Fire radio and if I need to mellow out I'll play Seal. Did I mention it's free. If you have Internet connection on your IPhone you can access Pandora anywhere.

Favorite gum

I have become addicted to the fantastic flavors Orbit has like Fruitini, Sangria, and Maui Melon pictured above. I pretty much quit chewing gum until I tried these new flavors now I have to buy a pack or two every time I'm at the store. Try it you'll likey.

Favorite Sandals

I bought these awesome sandals in June they are called Fit Flops. They are supposed to help you burn more calories when you walk, I don't know if that is true but they are the most comfortable sandals ever. I have worn them everyday since I bought them. I'll be so sad when it gets too cold to wear them.

Trips with El Jefe.

El Jefe and I were in Virginia last week for a Hotel convention. I have to admit that Virginia was not on my list of places I wanted to visit but it was so beautiful and steeped with early American history. We stayed in Colonial Williamsburg a few nights where the convention was held. I've never seen any place like it. It's what I always imagined the English countryside to look like. I was thrilled because England is on my list. The Today show was there last Wednesday because it's a battleground state. We woke up early on Wednesday and got ready to go down there so we could say we saw Matt Lauer in the flesh and possibly get our mugs on T.V. Then we turned the T.V. and saw how many people were there and said forget about it.

We also went to Yorktown Va. where the last battle of the Revolutionary War took place. We went on the life changing tour ( that's what the tour guide called it) of the Battlefield. To hear how basically everything went right for the Patriots and everything went wrong for the English at that time makes one realize that it had to be divine intervention that we won that war. God Bless America!

Then we stayed two nights in Virginia Beach. We stayed right on the beach which would have been fantastic but the whole time there was 45 mph winds and rain like I have never seen it rain before. Surprisingly it was still above 70 degrees and the water was warm. Who knew Virginia had a warm beach ? I didn't.

Peaches

My parents have a peach tree in their back yard. So this is the time of year that we can peaches. Earlier this week I went to my always fabulous sister's house. Yes I have forgiven her for neglecting me and my blog because she let me can peaches in her big kitchen. As I was hunched over a giant bowl peeling peaches this is what was playing in my head.

Is there a song from your childhood that you love but haven't heard for long time and then you hear it you're happy to have it stuck in your head all day? That's what happened to me yesterday morning on my way into work I heard December 1963 by Frankie Vallie and The Four Seasons. I don't have any specific memories linked to this song. Only that I loved it when I was a kid and I still do. Speaking of musical gems that have a year in the title, 1979 by the Smashing Pumpkins and Bryan Adams crooning about the year I was born Summer of 69.

For the last two days I've been bagging up clothes that we don't wear or don't fit anymore for the Deseret Industries clothing drive that's going on in our stake this week. I wish I could say that I'm doing this for those in need but, I have been overwhelmed with our excess clothes for months never being able to put away my clean laundry because of an overflowing closet. When it was all said and done I had twelve bags of clothes, twelve! Now my closet doors and my dresser drawers can close. Woohoo!
